Programs & Services

Our programs are designed to help victims of abuse achieve safety, explore their options, and evolve from victim to survivor. Please call our hotline at (888) 438-8700 for more information about any of the services listed below.

What We Offer

Emergency Shelter Program
We offer safety, services and emotional support in a beautiful, seven-bedroom, single-family home. We can house up to 16 women and children for up to 90 days.

Our hotline is available 24/7. You don't have to give your name. You don't have to do anything or go anywhere you don't want to. We listen to your concerns, answer your questions, provide you with options, offer our programs or refer you to other needed services.

Safety Planning
Whether you plan to leave or plan to stay in the home, there are things you can do to maximize your safety and the safety of your children.

Counseling and Advocacy Services
You do not need to live at our shelter to get help. Counselors and advocates are available to help you develop plans for your safety, assess your situation and identify your options.

Legal Services
Everyone has the right to live free from abuse and to be protected by the police and the courts. Our legal department staff, other advocates and trained volunteers may help you to navigate the court system, to secure orders of protection and to help with divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, violations of orders of protection, immigration matters and/or other civil legal matters related to or exacerbated by the abuse.

Support Groups
Support groups for women, teens and children are a safe place to share your feelings, understand your legal rights, develop your strengths, and plan for your future. Groups are held at various times and childcare is available.

Children's Program
Our children's program is designed to break the cycle of violence and to reverse the trauma of abuse. Individual counseling and support groups provide a forum for children to learn safety techniques, coping skills and where to turn for help.

"Love Shouldn't Hurt" Teen Education Program
Hope's Door is active in the teen community because we understand the reality of dating abuse. Our teen program includes Classroom Workshops, the annual "Love Shouldn't Hurt" teen symposium, and our award-winning peer leadership group, STAR. All three components give students the opportunity to discuss the issues they're facing in school and at home, while raising awareness about abuse in dating relationships.

Community Education and Outreach
If your job site, school, interfaith group, organization or business would like to know more about domestic violence and dating abuse, we will develop a presentation tailored to your needs.
